Bidding ended. Lot is unsold.
Sold with the photocopied certificate of Max Möller, Amsterdam, stating the violin to be the work of Gagliano with the exception of the table which doesn't show the characteristics of the hand of Ferd. Gagliano.
It is our opinion that the the back and ribs are by Ferdinand Gagliano, but the head is probably German and the replacement table was made for the instrument by another hand, probably in the last 100 years.
